What to expect in the first three months

Your Baby's First Three Months

Every baby develops at their own pace, but here are general milestones.

Physical Development

  • Lifting head briefly during tummy time
  • Beginning to follow objects with eyes
  • Bringing hands to mouth
  • Reacting to loud sounds

Social Development

  • Beginning to smile at people
  • Trying to look at parents
  • Making cooing sounds

When to Talk to Your Doctor

If your baby isn't responding to sounds or showing interest in faces by 2-3 months, mention it at your next checkup.
