Healing Nappy Rash
Nappy rash is very common and usually clears in a few days with gentle care. The key is keeping skin clean, dry and protected.
Quick soothers
- Frequent nappy changes
- Nappy-free air time
- Barrier cream at each change
- Gentle, fragrance-free cleansing
Change often
Change wet or dirty nappies promptly. The less time skin spends against moisture, the faster it heals.
Air it out
Give your baby some nappy-free time on a towel each day. Fresh air is one of the best (and free) healers for sore skin.
Protect the skin
Clean gently with water or fragrance-free wipes, pat dry, and apply a thin layer of barrier cream (zinc-based) at every change to lock out moisture.
When to see a doctor
- Rash that's blistering, weeping, or spreading
- Bright red skin with white/red spots (possible thrush)
- Rash that doesn't improve after a few days
- Your baby seems in pain or has a fever
